To increase education and awareness, especially among the younger members of the community. Miami Dade County continues to have one of the highest HIV infection rates in the nation.
The purpose of this blog is just to teach Teenagers about sex and give them the facts, so they know more about it and are aware of the possible consequences if they ever decide to have sex. It is also to make sure they are safe if and when they decide to become sexually active. Most Educators will take the opportunity to make it into a "just don't have sex!" issue and list all the reasons you shouldn't do it, but it technically is just to inform them and let them make their own decisions, HOPING that they will have enough sense not to do it until they are ready or if they decide to still go ahead then do it safely.
