Different types of Lubricants
WATER-BASED LUBRICANTS
These products are made from a water-soluble base. They are designed to be used with ALL adult toys and are condom safe. These lubes are slippery but may need to be re-applied. Depending on the level of quality, water-based lubes have a tendency to get "Sticky Feeling" and dry out. Our favorite water-based products are Astroglide, Wet Original (A Thicker Product) and the thinner feeling Wet Light. Remember, water-based lubes are not as silky feeling and long lasting as silicone based.
SILICONE LUBRICANTS
Personal lubricants are unlike any other. They are never sticky, completely condom safe, and can be used in water! Unlike some lubes that begin to feel sticky or slimy, silicone lubes always remain slick and very silky feeling. We even have a brand that gives off a tingling, cooling sensation when blown on (Motion lotion)and some with little beads that bursts on contact. These products are also condom safe.
HYBRID LUBRICANTS
Lubricants now come in three basic formulas — water, silicone or a hybrid of both. Mixing silicone and water based lubes is a recent development. Water lubes are enjoyed for their natural feeling. Silicone lubes last longer but are often more obvious when being used because the feeling isn’t quite as natural as the water formulas. Hybrid lubes that contain both water and silicone are an effort to bring together the best qualities of both formulas. The hybrids last longer than just plain water based lubricants, but not as long as a pure silicone formulas and they provide a more natural feeling, like the water based formulas.
FLAVORED LUBRICANTS
Wet Fun Flavors come in a variety of great flavored styles, from tropical to refreshing. All are condom and toy safe and add an interesting dimension to sex.Great for oral sex. They are also safe for vaginal use however, they do contain Glycerin so they should be avoided by woman who have any type of sensitivity to Glycerin or those that are prone to frequent yeast infections.
A Note Regarding Yeast Infections
Some women have reported that many sex lubes aggravate reoccurring yeast Infections. If this is an issue for you, we recommend Probe Personal Lubricant, Liquid Silk, or Pjur Woman Aqua. Liquid Silk is the most recommended lube by health educators for coping with this problem. As yeast infections can be extremely troublesome for those with weakened immune systems we recommend you talk to your health care provider before choosing a lubricant.
