Reportedly, CBD can help with stress and anxiety—two common woes of engaged couples.
Feeling the pressure as your wedding day quickly approaches? You're not alone. All the planning, budgeting, designing, and dreaming that leads up to your nuptials can get the best of even the most cool, calm, and collected couples. On a quest (or Google search) for ways you can decompress and destress, you might come across CBD oils, CBD ingestibles, and other CBD products. But what is CBD, exactly? And how can CBD help with anxiety for couples
Brides spoke with Alexis Rosenbaum, founder of Rosebud CBD to learn
What Is CBD, Exactly?
Cannabidiol, commonly known as CBD, is a naturally-produced compound of hemp and cannabis plants that indirectly stimulates our brain receptors to alter the signal between cells. CBD has been shown to restore balance to important bodily functions like appetite, digestion, inflammation or pain, mood, and sleep. Thus, CBD totes claims of reducing stress and anxiety—two common woes of engaged couples—with none of the intoxicating effects of marijuana, the drug commonly associated with CBD.
CBD can come in several final forms, such as gummies and candies, but one of the most common today is CBD oil—taken in proper dosage under the tongue using a dropper or topically to reduce pain and inflammation. CBD oil has exploded in popularity over the past few years, and more and more people praise its healing and calming capabilities. And Rosenbaum told us that CBD oil is effective for helping to bring the body back into balance naturally and, crucially, with no risk of dependence.
“In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential,” Rosenbaum says. “To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of CBD.”
How Can It Help With Wedding Stress?
It’s no wonder that more couples who are feeling stressed about all their wedding planning are turning to CBD as part of their wellness regimen. Rosenbaum was already married by the time she founded Rosebud, but if she could go back in time, she’d have leaned on CBD to help her get through the rough times. “When it was finally time for [my] wedding, I was a ball of anxious exhaustion and just waiting for it all to be over,” she says. “CBD wasn’t a part of my life back then, but if it had been I would’ve felt as if I could catch my breath amongst the madness.”
